Chicago Orchestral Academy Presents Protege Philharmonic in Concert
 
Founded 27 years ago, The Protégé Philharmonic, builds the future of classical music through the cultivation of young artists, which includes orchestral training opportunities, chamber music ensembles, soloists and composers.

The Chicago Orchestral Academy Presents Protégé Philharmonic's third concert of the 2017-18 Season on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be performed in the Auditorium of the Salme Harju Steinberg Fine Arts Center at Northeastern Illinois University, conveniently located at 3701 West Bryn Mawr Ave., Chicago, IL. There is free parking in Parking Lot F.
 
Music Director and founder of the orchestra, Joseph Glymph, has programmed Donizetti's Don Pasquale: Overture; Britten's Matinees Musicales, Op. 24; Griffes's The White Peacock; and Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Suite, Op. 66a. The concert will feature the 2018 Concerto Competition Winner, Lydia Walquist, Flute, performing the Mozart Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major, KV 313.

About the Orchestra: Founded 39 years ago, the organization has gone through a recent rebranding with the new name of Chicago Orchestral Academy. There are 2 orchestras in the COA, Classical Symphony Orchestra and Protégé Philharmonic.
