17th Annual Northampton International Film Festival

 

The Northampton International Film Festival takes place over three days in the scenic college town of Northampton, Massachusetts. Located just north of New York City, Northampton Massachusetts or ‘NoHo’ has been a popular New England destination due to its thriving arts culture, restaurants and surrounding five colleges.

Northampton, Massachusetts (September 19, 2013) - The Northampton International Film Festival returns Columbus Day weekend October 11-13, 2013. Held at the legendary Academy of Music Theatre, NoHoIFF ’13 will showcase over 30 features, documentaries and short films from around the world.
 
Don’t miss the opening night feature film "HairBrained," starring Brendan Fraser (The Mummy, With Honors), Parker Posey (Scream, Boston Legal) and Alex Wolff (Monk, The Naked Brothers Band). Following the opening night feature film, NoHoIFF will host its annual Gala at the R. Michelson Galleries, highlighted by a delicious wine tasting by Black Birch Vineyard and the smooth sounds of jazz quartet FlavaEvolution.
 
Also, be sure to catch Academy Award Nominee David Strathairn (Lincoln, L.A. Confidential, Good Night, and Good Luck) in one of his best performances in "No God, No Master."  Laugh out loud with the hilarious comedy "It’s Not You, It’s Me," led by an all-star cast: Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Ross McCall (Green Street Hooligans, Crash), Joelle Carter (High Fidelity, American Pie) Beth Littleford (Family Guy, Desperate Housewives) with Maggie Wheeler (Friends, The Parent Trap) and Erick Avari (The Mummy, Planet of the Apes).
 
Before there was Johnny and June, there was Johnny and Saul. Get to know the man behind famed country music star Johnny Cash in the compelling documentary "My Father and the Man in Black."
In addition, get an early look at the critically acclaimed documentary "The New Public," premiering October 1st on the PBS/world channel series America Reframed.
 
Back this year is renowned novelist and NoHoIFF alum Gorman Bechard, with Part 2 of his "Alone" trilogy, "Broken Side of Time." Local cinema will be a highlight of this year’s festival with such films as "Guest House," starring Michael Gross (Family Ties) and Heather Lind (Boardwalk Empire). "Spooners," "Bridge of Names," "Turning Pages" and the thriller "The House Across the Street" starring Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, The Expendables), Ethan Embry (Once Upon a Time, Vacancy) and Courtney Gains (Sweet Home Alabama, Back to the Future) are also part of our local cinema line-up.
